Quick thoughts on the CP3 deal that was surprisingly stopped.

I am going to keep this as unbiased as possible. As much as i dreaded the trade, purely because I am a Laker hater and a Chris Paul fan, the cockblock was out of no where. If you were gonna stop the trade, he should have done it earlier and not let the teams waste so much time and effort. Also, don’t tell other owners that the acting GM of NOH, Dell Demps, had full power to execute trades when it obviously isn’t the case. I am still sighing a huge sigh of relief that this didn’t happen. I just wished it happened in better terms.
This leaves a lose-lose situation for NOH. With the season starting in about two weeks and just 66 games to play in the regular season; they won’t have the assets to keep Paul around, and he is going to leave for either LAL or NYK. Most likely LAL because NYK used up whatever cap space they have on Tyson Chandler. Instead of having a fair trade, where all teams get above-average to all-star type players, they leave NOH to lose their star player for nothing in return. Also, this dead-locks CP3 into staying with NOH for the rest of the season because if he gets traded this season, it will make David Stern look REAL BAD. This was a crazy start to the NBA off-season and I don’t how much crazier it can get. But as fan of the sport as a whole, this is awesome. Hahahahaha

Tis the season. The NBA SEASON!

For 66 games, I get to enjoy Chris Paul carve up defenses and dish out beautiful dimes! Warriors, Hornets, Magic, and Heat. My favorite teams and one of my favorite sports are back. I am one supremely happy camper! LET’S GET IT! Time to finally cop NBA 2k12.
